Cabot to Build Carbon Black Plant in Tianjin, China

BOSTON, and SHANGHAI, China, Nov. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cabot Corporation (NYSE: CBT - ) announced today that it will expand its existing relationship with joint venture partner Shanghai Coking and Chemical Company to build a carbon black plant in Tianjin, China. The first production unit is scheduled to begin producing product in early 2006 with an estimated annual capacity of 50,000 MT. Expansion of the plant is currently planned for later in 2006.
